What to Expect at Landmark Chiropractic
From your first visit to diagnosis to ongoing treatment, our staff at Landmark Chiropractic will strive to provide the best possible care, the clearest communication, answers to all of your questions and the time and attention you deserve. Healing begins here.
Your First Visit
If you’re a first-time visitor at Landmark Chiropractic, you’ll need to give us some information about your background, medical history and the nature of your condition. This is so that we can provide the best possible care, tailored to your specific circumstances.
Consultations are always Complimentary
If you have questions, we have answers! If you would like an in person or over the phone consultation with Dr. Bergeson to discuss your condition before being examined and beginning treatment, it is complimentary. We want you to understand what we do and how we can help you. During your first consultation with the doctor, you’ll discuss any health-related issues and concerns. You will also learn about potential treatment options.
A bit of paperwork
We will need to fill out forms that provide general information about you and your condition. Our staff is happy to assist you with the paperwork.
History & Examination
In order to pinpoint the problem, the doctor will ask you a number of questions related to your condition. A variety of targeted tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. Our exam is a screening of all systems, vitals, a neurological assessment (cranial nerves, motor, sensory, etc), and orthopedic exams that are specific to your case. This usually lasts about 60 min. After your first appointment with your exam, you can expect your visit to be around 30 min.
X-Rays
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in assessing the most effective treatment plan for you
Same-Day Treatment
Patients will generally undergo their first treatment on their first visit after the examination and x-rays are completed. This may include spinal adjustments, ART, or Cox Flexion Distraction. 24 hour emergency treatment is available!
Home Instructions
Before leaving, you will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat applications, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises.
Scheduling the Next Appointment
Regular treatment is essential to the process. We work our treatments around your schedule. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days of their initial visit.
